MerleFest is produced by the Wilkes Community College Endowment Corporation, the non-profit fundraising organization for Wilkes Community College, a public, two-year, open enrollment institution serving Ashe, Alleghany, and Wilkes Counties in northwestern North Carolina. The net proceeds of MerleFest fund capital improvements, including the Next Step Campaign, faculty and staff salaries, and scholarships.
