April 13, 2012 - Last day to cancel any shift for MerleFest 2012

April 25, 2012 - 6:00 p.m. - Volunteer Kick-Off Party/Training at Mayes Pit-Cohn Auditorium on the campus of Wilkes Community College

April 26-29, 2012 - MerleFest 25!

Wilkes Community College is a TOBACCO FREE CAMPUS--The use of tobacco products is not permitted in buildings or on the grounds and property of the WCC campus.

MerleFest volunteers are encouraged to wear their MerleFest Volunteer Commemorative Pins. This tradition began in 2008. We encourage you to wear your pins to every festival.

Volunteer Spotlight

January 2012 - Volunteer Spotlight - Carol and Bill Perdue

Each year during the four days of MerleFest, Carol and Bill Perdue of Glade Valley, North Carolina, can be found working in the Hayes Hall Hospitality area of the festival. Though retired—Bill from First Union and Lowe’s and Carol from Lowe’s—they stay busy playing golf, gardening, working out, walking and volunteering in the community. In addition to all these interests, Carol works part-time at Christ Episcopal Church in Sparta as Parish Administrator.

January 2012 - Group Spotlight - WCC Horticulture Club(2)

When MerleFest begins at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, the campus looks beautiful in its spring finery and everything is set for performances, food, vendors and all the other exciting aspects of the festival. The Wilkes Community Horticulture Club is one of the groups that helps prepare the grounds.
