DATES TO REMEMBER 

October 1, 2013 - Volunteer Applications for MerleFest 2014 will be available online

 April 23, 2014 - Volunteer Kick Off Party - located at Mayes Pit/Cohn Auditorium.  Party will begin at 6:00pm. 

April 24-27, 2014 - MerleFest 2014!!!

Wilkes Community College is a TOBACCO FREE CAMPUS--The use of tobacco products is not permitted in buildings or on the grounds and property of the WCC campus. 

MerleFest volunteers are encouraged to wear their MerleFest Volunteer Commemorative Pins. This tradition began in 2008. We encourage you to wear your pins to every festival.

Volunteer Spotlight

December 2013 - Volunteer Spotlight - Jerry and Jean Cornelius

Retirees Jerry and Jean Cornelius of Forest, Virginia, have been volunteering at MerleFest since 2011.  Since retirement they have spent about 50 percent of their time volunteering at national and state parks, local organizations and their church. They are also members of a RV camping club and love to travel by RV.

April 2012 - Group Spotlight - BROC

Jo Phipps and her mother Betty White head up the team from the Blue Ridge Opportunity Commission (BROC) who help feed the hungry throngs who come to MerleFest each year. BROC is one of the nonprofit food vendors in the large food tent at the festival.
